As of the beginning of May 2019, JD Cloud had released a total of more than 190 classified core products and services into 16 categories, and thus can host the migration of most customer business systems.
Feasible migration methods and steps are given for five categories of product components, i.e., computing, storage, networking, middleware, management and safe.
All-round security guarantee covering four aspects, i.e., guarantee of data migration security, guarantee of high system availability, high reliability of system storage Cloud Security product.
Various migration tools and service such as JDMigration Service, Object Storage Service Osstransfer Tool, SQLServer Cloud on Single Database Tool and Redis Migration Instrumentation are provided.
JDMigration architecture is mainly divided into four parts, i.e., analysis, design, implementation and verification as well as optimization, as shown in the diagram. After the customer business system immigrates into JD Cloud, the system performance and security can be finally improved while the cost is reduced and the system reliability is enhanced. In the analysis phase of system migration, an analysis report is given upon effective migration model and migration policy by collecting detailed system information and user demands and after evaluating the system, security, resources, workload and costs. In the design phase, the cloud architecture and module migration policy are designed for the system architecture and main module of the user business system and the scheme designs for system, security, architecture, migration and test are produced. In the implementation and verification phase, based on the migration scheme, the system is completely migrated by immigration of such system modules as computing, storage, networking, middleware as well as management and security and then integrating the system. Functions, performance, availability, reliability, security, disaster recovery and other aspects are comprehensively verified to obtain a complete verification and assessment report. In the optimization phase, the system is improved through performance adjustment and optimization, reinforcement of high availability, safety reinforcement, enhancement of service quality, etc.
Based on the migration framework and system split and reorganize the cloud migration model, the independent components split by the system are divided into 4 migration policies, namely rehosting, repurchase, platform replacement and rebuild. As the figure shows, it provides a full-system migration process for complex customer business system. During system migration and evaluation, give priority to organization of the architecture, resource and business demand of the whole system to mark off the independent system components and evaluate the migration policy for each independent system components. Perform the migration of independent components with the 4 migration policies, namely rehosting, repurchase, platform replacement and rebuild. Switch the business traffic upon system verification and optimization to enable the migrated system to be put in running. In the course of system migration, provide security guarantee for the migration according to the security demand of the customer. JD Cloud provides the cloud migration security guarantee covering four aspects, i.e., guarantee of data migration security, guarantee of high system availability, high reliability of system storage and Cloud Security product, as shown below.
Typical Scenario: Migration of Virtual Machines in other cloud environments.
Solution: On the original cloud, the Virtual Machines use the platform function or the system command to make the system data into images or data packages, and transmit the image or data package to JD Cloud's Object Storage Service, and then import the image on JD Cloud and Create VMs again according to the image or use the data in the data package to replace it to the system.
Typical Scenario: Migration of container instances in other cloud environments.
Solution: You can directly create and configure the container created by public image on JD Cloud. For container instances created by private image, the migration can done through exporting the container private image in the original environment and uploading to JD Cloud private repository and then using the private repository to create a container instance which shall be configured according to the original environment.
Typical Scenario: Migration of Cloud Disk Service data in other cloud environments. This method is applicable to Object Storage Service data migration.
Solution: The key point of migration of Cloud Disk Service is migration of the data stored in the hard disk. Use JD Cloud's migration tools of Object Storage Service to transfer the data in the original environment to the JD Cloud's Object Storage Service and finally replicate the data in JD Cloud's Object Storage Service to JD Cloud's Cloud Disk Service.
Typical Scenario: Migration of data stored in MySQL database in other cloud environments.
Solution: The key point is migration of data stored in MySQL database. You may easily transfer MySQL Database on cloud into RDS MySQL of JD Cloud with JDMigration.
Typical Scenario: Migration of network topological structure of original business system in other cloud environments.
Solution: The migration process mainly involves in the network resources included in the original environment created on JD Cloud, which shall be subsequently planned and configured on JD Cloud to enable the network environment on JD Cloud to meet the running needs of customers’ system.
Typical Scenario: Migration of Redis storage data in other cloud environments.
Solution: The migration is done by using redis-migrate-tool open source migration tools to migrate the data stored in Redis in the original environment to JD Cloud's Redis.
Use of Products: JCS for Redis
Typical Scenario: Migration of IAM mechanism in other cloud environments.
Solution: The migration is done by organizing the complete configuration of IAM products in the original environment, creating the same account system on JD Cloud and setting with reference to the original configuration, so as to satisfy the needs of customers’ business systems.
